| Recycled clothing is anything made from materials, fabrics metals or fibres already in existence, often reclaimed from previously used clothing redesigned into new clothing, jewellery and accessories. |

| The term organic clothing refers to fabrics such as leather, cotton or wool which are grown from plants or animals without the use of chemical pesticides and have not been genetically modified. Organic cotton has less environmental impact then conventional cotton as no chemicals are used which save the world’s air and water supplies from pollution. In addition leaving no chemical residue on fabrics that can irritate the skin.

| The notion of sustainable design is based on using less harmful products and processes or harvesting methods than conventional ones. This is achieved by working with easily replenishable and fast growing fibers including bamboo, hemp and soy. |
 | FAIRTRADE |
| Fair trade is a concept and movement aimed at ending poverty and building sustainable living in impoverished countries. It is about paying workers a fair price for their work and goods, while also investing in and improving social and environmental standards for those providing the goods.

If they are lucky, these 12-year olds can earn 100-200 sums (US 38 cents) per day harvesting cotton working from 7am to; 5pm. Many children earn nothing at all for their labour. |
